Bonnet Struts – Isuzu D-Max (2021–2023) / MU-X (2020–2023)
Weight: Approx. 1.0 kg
The Isuzu D-Max and MU-X are built tough, but their bonnets still rely on a single prop rod — the same basic system used since the 1970s. The RIVAL 4x4 Bonnet Strut Kit upgrades your D-Max or MU-X with Stabilus dynamic gas struts, the global benchmark in gas spring technology used by premium European carmakers. Open the bonnet and it lifts smoothly, holds securely at full extension, and lowers with controlled precision when you’re done. No prop rod to fumble with, no risk of the bonnet slipping and crashing down, and both hands free for checking oil, topping up fluids, or clearing debris from the air filter after a dusty day on the track. Bolt-on installation with no drilling means you can fit this kit yourself on a Sunday morning.

Why Choose This Product?
-
Stabilus — The OEM Standard: Stabilus gas struts are used by BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and Audi as original equipment. You’re fitting the same quality of gas spring technology that comes standard in premium European vehicles.
-
Safety Under the Bonnet: A prop rod on uneven ground, in windy conditions, or when the vehicle is on a slope is a recipe for the bonnet falling. Gas struts hold the bonnet securely regardless of angle, wind, or vibration.
-
Covers Two Models: One kit fits both the D-Max and MU-X from the same generation, making it a versatile choice for households or fleets running both models.
-
DIY-Friendly Installation: Bolt-on design with clear instructions means no drilling, no modification, and no mechanic bill. Fifteen minutes with basic hand tools and you’re done.

Built for Australian Conditions
The Isuzu D-Max and MU-X are mainstays of Australian work and touring life. Their bonnets get opened everywhere — on the side of the Bruce Highway, at a remote campsite on the Savannah Way, on a dusty building site in western Sydney, or in the driveway on a Saturday morning. RIVAL’s Stabilus gas struts are rated for extreme temperature ranges, from sub-zero alpine mornings to 45°C outback afternoons. The corrosion-resistant construction handles coastal humidity, salt air, and the moisture that accumulates in engine bays during rain and water crossings.
